Letterpress account of the Battle of Heilsberg, to accompany the map of the battle fought 10 June 1807 between the French and Russians (RCINs 735135.a-b). Napoleonic Wars (1803-15).
The German and French text is arranged side by side in two columns on each page. The account of the battle is detailed, with frequent references to the positions noted on the map. The author states that the battle lasted nine and a half hours and cost the French army 11-12,000 men as prisoners, killed or wounded, apart from the numbers of officers who were not included in the total. On the other side, three Russian generals were killed (including Warneck), and 6-7,000 men killed or wounded.
