The 20-gun Bonne Citoyenne (a captured French sloop, now in service as HMS Bonne Citoyenne), commanded by Captain William Mounsey (1766-1830) was one of two escorts for a convoy en route for Quebec. Mounsey had given chase to the 48-gun Furieuse (though only with 20 guns at the time) for eighteen hours before catching her up and giving battle for a further six hours before the Furieuse surrendered. She was taken into the British navy as HMS Furieuse.
This is one of a pair; the companion print is at RCIN 735150.
