A map of the Battle of Aspern-Essling, fought on 21-22 May 1809 between the French army, commanded by Napoleon Bonaparte (1769-1821), and the Austrians, commanded by Archduke Charles of Austria, Duke of Teschen (1771-1847), resulting in the defeat of the French. Napoleonic Wars (1803-15). Oriented with north to top.

This is the third of three maps showing the different dispositions of the armies at the Battle of Aspern. The first and second maps are at RCINs 735147.a and b. They were originally contained in an early nineteenth-century buff rag paper folder on which is written, bottom left of front cover, the old heading.

Condition: no fold lines; unevenly trimmed; some brown discolouration.
