A map of the action near Porto Novo on 1 July 1781 in which the British army, commanded by Lieutenant-General Sir Eyre Coote (1726-83), defeated the army of Hyder Ally. Second Anglo-Mysore War (1780-84). Oriented with west to top.

The 'references' to this plan are at RCIN 73461.2.b. The 8,000-strong British force defeated the 40,000-60,000-strong Mysore army.
