A view of the Battle of Dogger Bank, 5 August 1781, which was fought between the British and the Dutch; the result was inconclusive and had no effect on the course of the wider American War of Independence. The objective of the war was to prevent the Dutch from trading ammunition and supplies with the enemies of Britain. Fourth Anglo-Dutch War (1780-84).

The 'Description' referred to in the old catalogue entry has been pasted to RCIN 734063 in error.
