A medium oblique view of the town and fortress of Nitra, captured by the Ottomans on 6 October 1663 and re-taken on 3 May 1664 by Habsburg Imperial Army General Jean-Louis Raduit de Souches (1608-82) referred to on this print as 'General Susa'. The text describes the geographical situation of the town and fortress and its strengths. Oriented with north to top (compass rose). Habsburg-Ottoman Wars (Fourth Austro-Turkish War) (1663-4).

Watermark: Print: circle with crescent above, star and crown within circle. Mount: none.
Condition: five fold lines to print; item originally folded to 8.4 x 9.2 cm. Quite dark offsetting from the title which appears on the bottom margin of the print may indicate that this item may have been folded in half while the ink was still damp. Pressure marks from the mounts of items which were kept above and below this map/print in a different collection are present on the recto and verso
