Etching with engraving; printed on paper; mounted on paper (Mount Type B) | 14.3 x 19.9 cm (image, neatline and sheet) | RCIN 721043

A medium oblique view of Tokay beseiged by John Sigismund Zápolya (7 July 1540-14 March 1571) King of Hungary.

This view is based in part on Zenoni's 1565 view (RCIN 721042); the depiction of the fortress is almost identical: the breach in the west wall has been repaired and the flags altered in the later view so that they represent the Habsburg army which had taken the town the previous year.
