In his letter to Holdernesse, written on 3 February 1760 (TNA SP. 87/37, f.36.2) Duke Ferdinand states that ‘Le Plan des mouvements faits par les deux Armées depuis le 15 de Juillet jusqu'au 1 d'Aôut, qui a été levé par le Capitaine Bauer, et qui a eté gravé en Hollande explique tout ce que je viens de dire ...’. However, this plan, which was published by de Hondt, was not included in the example of the compendium of Bauer's maps of the Seven Years War, published by Gosse and Pinet, which is at RCIN 732001 and, instead, the version of Roy's map in French, also engraved by Schley (RCIN 732112) was used.
