A high oblique view and map of Philippsburg, besieged by the French, commanded by Louis de Bourbon, Duc d'Enghien (8 September 1621-11 December 1686), from the end of August and taken on 9 September 1644. Thirty Years War (1618-1648).

The cartographer of this map of the siege of Philippsburg, Sébastien de Pontault de Beaulieu, lost his right arm at the siege, but this did not prevent him continuing as an engineer and cartographer in future years.
