A high oblique view of Mantua, besieged November-December 1629 and from May to July 1630 by Rambaldo XIII di Collato (21 September 1579-18 November 1630), Matthias Gallas (16 September 1584-25 April 1647), and Count Johann von Aldringen (10 December 1588-22 June 1634), leading to the surrender and sack of the city on 18 July 1630. War of the Mantuan Succession (1628-1631). Oriented with north to top (cardinal points).

    Condition: five fold lines; formerly folded to 11.8 x 7.2 cm. Surface dirt on verso, especially along fold lines. One fold line to mount which does not coincide with any of the fold lines on the print; pressure marks from the mounts of items which were kept above and below this print in a different collection are present on the recto and verso
