A view of the Battle of Nördlingen, fought on 5-6 September 1634 between the Holy Roman Empire with Spain and the Bavarian League, commanded by the future Holy Roman Emperor, Ferdinand of Hungary (13 July 1608-2 April 1657) and Cardinal-Infante Ferdinand of Austria (1609/10-9 November 1641) and Sweden with the forces of Saxe-Weimar and the Heilbronn League, commanded by Gustav Horn af Björneborg (22 October 1592-10 May 1657) and Bernhard of Saxe-Weimar (16 August 1604-18 July 1639) resulting in an Imperial victory. Thirty Years War (1618-1648).
Frederick Muller (1863) vol.I, no.1727, p.235, lists this view as an engraving by B.F. Berckenrode and cites the source as an atlas then belonging to J.T. Bodel Nijenhuis of Leiden.
