A map of the encampment of the Allied army under the command of Field Marshal Bathiani, 25 May 1746. War of the Austrian Succession (1740-48). Oriented with east to top (cardinal points).

A detailed topographical map showing roads, settlements, drainage, marshes and the extended lines of encampments of the Allied army to the north of Breda. This map is very similar in coverage and detail to RCIN 730045, of which it may be a copy. Attributed to Schultz on stylistic grounds.

Additional text: [bottom right, in a scroll below title, an alphabetical key, A-I, K-Q, to the places on the map and a numerical key, 1-73, of the regiments:] Benennung derer Regimenter.

Condition: two fold lines; creased; induced discolouration both sides. Verso: surface dirt along left and right edges; bottom, right of centre: water-stained patch and shadow from the removal of Cumberland's cipher label.
