A map of Yorktown, besieged by the French and Americans commanded by General George Washington (1732-99) and Jean Baptiste Donatien de Vimeur, comte de Rochambeau (1725-1807), and surrendered by the British, commanded by Lieutenant-General Lord Charles Cornwallis (1738-1805). American War of Independence (1775-83). Oriented with north-west to top.

Condition: two fold lines; a small rectangle has been cut out, top left, and filled in with a piece of pale blue paper pasted to the verso. Verso: slight surface dirt; induced discolouration.
