A map of the country between New York and Philadelphia showing the march routes of the British and Americans, 28 November 1776-4 January 1777. American War of Independence (1775-83). Oriented with north-west to top.

The map is hand coloured, according to the key, to show the routes and stopping places from 28 November 1776 to 4 January 1777 of the British in red and the Americans, or Provincials, in blue.

Additional text: [bottom centre, in rectangular cartouche, a table of what are presumably the main stopping places on the road from Philadelphia to new York, giving the distance, probably in miles, between them, and the cumulative distance from Philadelphia:] ROAD from Philadelphia to New York. [Bottom, left of centre:] NB. British_Red / Provin.ls_Blue.
