A high oblique view of the Spanish siege of Cengia, begun on 22 March 1638 and taken on the 31 March by Diego Felipez de Guzmán, 1st Marquis of Leganés (1580-1655), Governor of Milan. Franco-Spanish War (1635-1659). Oriented with west to top.

The view shows the elevated position of the fortress of Cengia [Cencia], a stronghold governing the mountain passes and the valley of the River Bormido. The road to Monte Zemo Montezemolo (44°22ʹ31ʺN 08°08ʹ25ʺE) is indicated top left, and the other road, to Salicetto (Saliceto 44°24ʹ48ʺN 08°10ʹ07ʺE), numbered 4, forks off from it and runs in the direction of the settlement which is shown numbered 32, top right. The little unnamed settlement to the left, numbered 15, is the town of Millesimo (44°22ʹ01ʺN 08°12ʹ13ʺE), while, to the east of it (bottom left) and numbered 16, is the town of Cosaria (Cosseria 44°22ʹ04ʺN 08°14ʹ05ʺE).
