The attribution to Schroter is made on the basis of the stylistic similarity between this map and RCIN 734048.a: a plan of the camps and manoeuvres at Hameln in 1779. The signature of 'A Hardenberg' in the border may be that of an officer authenticating the map.
A detailed topographical map showing the heathlands to the north of Stöcken and Marienwerder on which manoeuvres took place on 3 and 5 October, and the camps and manoeuvres to the north of Herrenhausen. The moat of the Herrschaftlich Garte of Herrenhausen is shown, but the interior of the garden is blank, with no layouts of beds, walks, etc. A flap showing a different position of the camp is pasted to the base map.
Condition: four fold lines; tear to bottom margin. Verso: surface dirt; induced discolouration.
