Order of battle of the Hanoverian army, 1729

1729 or later

Pencil, pen, ink and watercolour on paper | Scale: not stated | RCIN 727030.a

A map showing manoeuvres of the Hanoverian army in 1729 at Hanover.

The site of this order of battle was on the heathlands to the east of Hanover, in the area of the Eilenriede forests, in the vicinity of the Pferdeturm, a medieval tower. This order of battle was probably one adopted for one of several military reviews undertaken by George II during his first visit to Hanover as King of Great Britain in the summer of 1729.

There is no explanation to the numbers on the map.
