The old catalogue entry refers to the depictions of the different rates of ships as 'plans'; they are profile views, each flying the flags of admirals, or Vice-, Rear Admirals, or commodores of the White, Blue, or Red. The views of the different type of ship are accompanied by four depictions of uniformed officers: admiral, captain, lieutenant, and midshipman.
