The map extends from Ferbach (Fehrbach, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany 49°13ʹ45ʺN 07°34ʹ52ʺE) in the top left corner to Pfortsheim (Pforzheim, Baden-Württemberg, Germany 48°53ʹ04ʺN 08°41ʹ56ʺE) in the top right corner, and from approximately Rosemont (Rougemont-le-Château, Franche-Comté, France 47°44ʹ02ʺN 06°58ʹ08ʺE) in the bottom left corner to Oberhofen (Oberhof, Aargau, Switzerland 47°26ʹ55ʺN 08°00ʹ10ʺE) in the bottom right corner. The course of the Rhine is shown from Rheinzabern (Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany 49°07ʹ05ʺN 08°16ʹ41ʺE) in the north to Lauffenbourg (Laufenburg, Baden-Württemberg, Germany 47°33ʹ54ʺN 08°03ʹ38ʺE) in the south-east.
