A middle/high oblique view/map of the second day of the naval Battle of Saint-Martin de Ré, fought on 16 September 1625. (See RCIN 722017 for further details.) Huguenot Rebellions or Rohan Wars (1625). Oriented with north to top.

The scale of the depiction of the land appears to be quite large and the numerous salt pans are shown in justaposition to the vineyards and arable land (shown by parallel lines) on the island. The letters on the map are explained in the accompanying separate letterpress text (see RCIN 722018.b).
