An outline map of the fortifications of Carrickfergus showing the approach trenches during the siege of the town by the Williamite army, commanded by Frederick Hermann, 1st Duke of Schomberg (1615/16-1690) from 20 August to its surrender on 28 August 1689. Williamite-Jacobite War in Ireland (1688-91), part of the Nine Years War (1688-97). Oriented with south to top (compass rose).
