A view of the Four Days' Battle fought on 11, 12, 13 and 14 June (N.S.) 1666 between the navy of the Dutch Republic commanded by Admiral Michiel Adriaenszoon de Ruyter (1607-76) and Admiral Cornelis Maartenszoon Tromp (1629-91) and the English fleet, commanded by George Monck, 1st Duke of Albemarle (1608-70), resulting in a Dutch victory. Second Anglo-Dutch War (1665-7)

Published in Kort en Bondigh Verhael Van 't geene in den Oorlogh, Tusschen den Koningh van Engelant &c. … Amsterdam: J. Benjamin, (1667). Two other editions of this work were also published in 1667 by Hillebrant van Wouw, 's Gravenhage and by Gerrit Nieuwenhuysen, Utrecht.     Condition: four fold lines; brown discolouration and stains. Verso: worn and surface dirt on fold lines; repairs to torn fold made with a strip of rough paper before being mounted. Pressure marks from the mounts of items which were kept above and below this map/print in a different collection are present on the recto and verso
