A high oblique view of the Swedish army, encamped in the area of the confluence of the Vistula and San rivers in March 1656 and surrounded by the Poles and Lithuanians. Following the arrival from Warsaw of Swedish reinforcements commanded by Frederick William, Elector of Brandenburg (1620-88), the Battle of Warka, also shown in this print, was fought on 7 April 1656 between the armies of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, commanded by General Stefan Czarniecki (1599-1665) and the army of Sweden, commanded by Charles X Gustav (1622-60) resulting in a Polish-Lithuanian victory. Second Northern War (1655-60). Oriented with north-east to top.

The distance between the geographical features is somewhat distorted; the area covered between Warsaw and Sandomierz is about 200 km. The straight line distance between Warka and Sandomierz is about 143 km; the distance between Warka and Wardaw is 57 km. The towns shown include Varsauia (Warsaw) in the north (to the left of the image), Kozienice (51°34ʹ59ʺN 21°32ʹ52ʺE), Stezica (Stęźyca, 51°34ʹ55ʺN 21°46ʹ15ʺE), Casimira (Kazimierz Dolny, 51°19ʹ09ʺN 21°57ʹ18ʺE), Janow (Janów Lubelski, 50°42ʹ25ʺN 22°24ʹ37ʺE), Zamocie (Zamość, 50°43ʹ23ʺN 23°15ʹ07ʺE) and Leopolis (Lviv, 49°50ʹ18ʺN 24°01ʹ24ʺE).
