After Thomas Luny (1759-1837)
A view of the Battle of Dogger Bank, 5 August 1781, which was fought between the British and the Dutch; the result was inconclusive and had no effect on the course of the wider American War of Independence. The objective of the war was to prevent the Dutch from trading ammunition and supplies with the enemies of Britain. Fourth Anglo-Dutch War (1780-84).

A Representation of the obstinate Engagement between the BRITISH SQUADRON under the command of Vice Admiral Parker / and the DUTCH SQUADRON, commanded by Rear Admiral Zoutman, on the Dogger Bank, 5.th of August, 1781 / The Engagement lasted three hours and forty minutes when Victory declared in favour of the British by the Dutch bearing away. One of their 74 Gun Ships sunk soon after from the Damage received in the Action. [bottom, below view]
