A map of the Battle of Stavuchany, fought on 28 August 1739 between the Russian army, commanded by Field Marshal Burkhard Christoph von Munnich (1683-1767), and the Turkish army, resulting in a Russian victory. Russo-Turkish War (1735-9). Oriented with south-west to top.

This appears to be a copy of the map at RCIN 728022, with the addition of the transcription of Marshal Münnich's letter to Count Courland (Ernst Johann von Biron 1690-1772; Grand Chamberlain of the Russian Empire, and denounced by Münnich in November 1740 and banished to Siberia) which gives a detailed description of the campaign, from the crossing of Polish territory to the taking of Khotyn (Choczim) and Jassy (or Iași).
