An account of the action at Fort Beauséjour, 1755. French and Indian War (1754-63).
This account by John Brewse states that in February 1755, Colonel Stringer Lawrence (see RCIN 731053, siege of Trichinopoly 1753) prepared a plan for taking Fort Beauséjour and to drive the French from the Isthmus of Chignecto. A description of the successful expedition to capture Fort Beauséjour, 'now Honoured with the Name of Cumberland' is given together with the announcement that Brewse is sending four plans of the operation with this account. Two of the plans can be identified as RCINs 731059 and 731060.a.
