A map of the town and harbour of Havana showing the different attacks made by the British on forts Moro and Punta from June to August 1762. Seven Years War (1756-63). Oriented with south-east to top (cardinal points).

A very detailed large-scale survey of the harbour, town and immediate surroundings of Havana showing the roads, settlements, vegetation and relief as well as the military features. Most of the settlements are not named. Other surveys were made by Patrick Mackellar (q.v.) and were sent back to London in Albemarle's dispatches; these were partly based on a Spanish map of 1730 (TNA MPG 637; see also MPG 636 (1) and (2)).

Condition: nine fold lines; creased; very worn and torn along centre horizontal fold; surface dirt along right edge; some of this surface dirt has been erased at the beginning of the nineteenth century in order to write the old heading. Verso: brown discolouration; heavy surface dirt along right edge, consistent with the map having been rolled.
