The Explanation gives a conventional sign for the camps of the 1760 campaign. The locations of the camps for the 1759 campaign are shown on Roziere's earlier map at RCINs 732085.a and b. At the bottom of the Explanation is a list of places where the map can be found/bought: Brenner, Knock et Eslinger Libres at Francfort; Krahamp, Libres at Cologne; Les Freres Ginjambre du Quartier Genéral; Merlin Libre Rue du Mont S.t Hilaire a Paris; Bauer L {Proche le Puit Certain at Strasbourg. The small empty circles in the Explication should have been filled in with a colour to denote the boundaries of the various principalities, duchies, and bishoprics, etc, but has been left uncoloured.
The map covers an area extending from Minden (52°17'00"N 08°55'00"E) in the north-west to Gandersheim (Bad Gandersheim 51°52'00"N 10°02'00"E) in the north-east, and from Mayence (Mainz 50°00'00"N 08°16'16"E) in the south-west to Lauringen (Stadtlauringen 50°11'13"N 10°21'41"E) in the south-east, although the easternmost extent is as far as Gotha (50°56'53"N 10°42'06"E).
