A map of the encampment of George II's German troops at Halle, 19 July 1757. Seven Years War (1756-63). Oriented with south to top. 

The distance between the previous encampment at Afferde and Halle is about 15 km (9 miles). The encamped squadrons and battalions of the following regiments were: Right Wing: Garde du Corps; Grenadiers à Cheval; Dachenhausen; Parc d'Artillerie Hanov:; Gardes; Wangenheim; Kielmansegge; Hodenberg; Spörcken; Hardenberg; Zandré; Post; Saxe Gothe; Stoltzenberg. Left Wing: Comte Isenburg; Prince Guilleaume; Canitz; Anhalt; Reg: du Corps hess:; Pr. hereditaire; Isenburg; Hanau; Behr; Reg du Corps; Imhoff; Le Parc de Bronsvic. 

The scale to the map, and the key to the conventional signs used to represent the troops is given on RCIN 732201.ai, headed 'Remarques'. The troop rectangles are coloured according to nationality: Hanoverian (red), Prussian (green), Brunswickian (yellow), Hessian (blue), French (lilac).
