A map of the encampment of the centre column of George II's German troops at Oldendorf, 31 August 1757. Seven Years War (1756-63). Oriented with south to top. 

The encamped squadrons and battalions of the following regiments are: Central Column: Gardes; Block; Ledebur; Zandré; Dreves; Stoltzenberg; Post; Zastrow; Hardenberg; Oberg; Knesebeck; Wangenheim; Reden; Sckölln; Breidenbach; Hammerstein; Gilten; Grothaus; Dachenhausen; Reg: du Corps; Busch; Grenadiers à cheval; Garde du Corps. [The right column comprised the Left Wing of the army which was camped at Gÿum (Gyhum); the Left Column comprised the rest of the Right Wing and was camped at Hastedt.] 

The scale to the map, and the key to the conventional signs used to represent the troops is given on RCIN 732201.ai, headed 'Remarques'. The troop rectangles are coloured according to nationality: Hanoverian (red), Prussian (green), Brunswickian (yellow), Hessian (blue), French (lilac).
