On 7 September 1760, the main Allied army had left its position near Warburg and had marched to the ridge running north-east from Liebenau, about 5 miles to the north-east from Warburg (Savory 1966, pp. 250-51); outposts were strengthened, guarding the line of the River Diemel, at Warburg, Haaren, Ovelginne, Liebenau, Dringelbourg, and Hardegsen. The orders of battle for the detached troops at these stations are also given. All regiments and commanding officers are named. The regimental rectangles are coloured according to the main colour of the uniform coats, facings, and, either cuffs or ‘vests’.
