The Hessian regiments are named as follows: Reg. Grenadier, du Corps, Prince Charles, de Furstenburg, Corps d’Artillerie, de Canitz, Prince d’Isenburg, Prince Hereditaire, du Guardes.
A symbol commonly used by continental cartographers for vineyards can be seen to the immediate north of the city, and within the northern section of the city walls. In this instance the symbol probably represents hop vines for which Winchester was well known at that time.
