A perspective view of St Cast Bay, 11 September 1758. Seven Years War (1756-63).

The attribution to John Cleeve Pleydell is made on stylistic grounds. This is an accomplished rendering of terrain, and of perspective, by an officer who had taken part in the later years of the Military Survey of Scotland (1747-55).
