Four views of the strongholds of Saint-Ambroix, La Gorce, Barjac, and Savalas, all of which were taken by Louis XIII during the first half of 1629. Huguenot Rebellions or Rohan Wars (1627-9).

After he had taken Privas, Louis XIII sent his army towards la Gorce and Barjac, both of which he took and then went on to Saint Ambroix where the castle was rased and the fortifications were dismantled

Lagorce and Salavas were also taken during this period when the troops of the French Royal army were besieging the Protestant forts of the region.
