A map of encampment of the British army at Oisterwijk, 1747. War of the Austrian Succession (1740-48). Oriented with south-west to top (compass rose).
The march from the previous camp at Eindhoven to Oisterwijk was about 30 km (18.5 miles). According to the George III catalogue entry for RCIN 730184, the camp at Oisterwijk was pitched on 22 October. The squadrons and battalions of the following regiments are present: First Line: Scots Greys, Rothes, Howard, Dejean, Crawford, Johnson, Campbell, Cope, Rich. Second Line: Pultney, Conway, Douglas, Fleming, Husk. Artillery in the rear.
One of a set of seven plans of encampments together with an order of battle by Daniel Paterson; all stitched together along the left edge (see RCINs 730180.a-h).
