A map of the encampments of 13 regiments and the quarters of a further four battalions of foot, five cavalry regiments, and the artillery train of the Hanoverian Army in Stahlhofen and the surrounding area in April 1745. War of the Austrian Succession (1740-48). Oriented with south to top (cardinal points with magnetic north show south-west to top).

The encamped regiments are Sommerfeldt, Klinckauströhm, Krough, Soubiron, Maÿdel, Horn, Block, Freudemann, Maÿder, Wrangel, Druchtleben, Grenadier a Cheval, Pontpietin. The cantoned regiments are: 2 battalions of Guards, Hugo, Middachten, Garde du Corps, Schultz, Busch, Hammerstein, Wreden, Artillery. The regimental rectangles appear to be coloured according to the uniform (probably coat and facings).

The places where the troops were encamped or quartered (all in present-day Rhineland-Palatinate), apart from Stahlhofen were: Taubach (Daubach 50°24'00"N 07°51'00"E), Iselbach (Isselbach 50°24'00"N 07°54'00"E), Girschhausen (Giershausen 50°23'00"N 07°53'00"E), Horbag (Horbach 50°22'59"N 07°51'00"E), Cackelbach (Gackenbach 50°22'00"N 07°52'00"E), Roperadt (Ruppenrod 50°23'00"N 07°53'00"E).
