    A topographical map of the area immediately round Braunau showing the encampments of the French army from 9 to 18 October, those of the Austrians from 26 September to 12 October, and those of the Bavarians in September 1742. War of the Austrian Succession (1740-48). Oriented with south to top (compass rose).

    In the same hand as RCIN 728072, Camp at Eger October 1742, and RCIN 728077, Camp at Dingolfing 1742. The old catalogue entry and heading refer to camps in November and December 1742, but the detail on the map, and the explanatory text, refer only to September and October. A detailed topographical map showing settlements, roads in ochre, meadowland or pasture in a flat green wash, cultivated land by brown cross hatching, sand and gravel banks by brown stippling, the relief artistically rendered in brown hachures and shading. The various positions, actions, and routes taken by the Pandours (an Austrian force) are marked.
