    ALEXANDER JOHNSON

    Konigshof and Prague, 1742

Plan van het Campement van de Fransche / Armée onder't Canon van Praag den 15 Août 1742. // Plan du Camp de l'Armée Françoise / sous le Canon de Prague le 15 Aug.t 1742

    1742 or later

Engraving; two maps printed from separate plates on one sheet of paper | Scale: not stated | RCIN 728068

Two plans; one shows the Austrian camp at Konigshal on 27 June 1742, the other shows Prague and environs with the positions of the Austrian encampments on 15 August. War of the Austrian Succession (1740-48).

The plan (oriented with west to top) of the camp of the Austrian army at Konigshal (or Konigshof) on 27 June 1742 shows a similar disposition of troops to the map of the same camp and order of battle at RCIN 728063.q. All the regiments are named. Konigshof is about 31 km (19.26 miles) from Prague.

The plan of Prague (oriented with south-east to top; cardinal points) is a crude representation of the city and the surrounding area with the Austrian encampments. Regiments are named.
