A detailed topographical map with the field fortifications, showing lines of fire from the batteries across the Rhine, and the Austrian pontoon bridge across the river, with the heavily fortified bridgehead on the west bank, with the camps of the Pandours and Croation forces beyond. The date of the ‘enemy camp’ is given as 4 September. This was part of the operations in the summer following the Battle of Dettingen (27 June 1743) in which the Allied armies unsuccessfully attempted to invade France by crossing the Rhine.
