A map of the encampment of the Allied army under the command of the Duke of Cumberland at Bouwel, 26 May 1747. War of the Austrian Succession (1740-48). Oriented with south to top (cardinal points).

The map extends from Vierseldijk (51°11'33"N 04°39'54"E) in the north to Berlaar (51°07'03"N 04°39'30"E) in the south, and from Lier (51°07'52"N 04°34'13"E), east to Herenthals (51°10'35"N 04°49'56"E). All the regiments are named and the regimental rectangles are coloured according to nationality, as explained in the key.
