      A map of the encampment of the Allied army under the command of Prince Charles of Lorraine at Gilze, 17-18 July 1746. War of the Austrian Succession (1740-48). Oriented with south to top.

      The encampment of the Austrians, Hanoverians, English, and Hessians extend over 7 km (4.3 miles) of heathland between Gilze and Schneiders Kan (Snijders-Chaam 51°31'45"N 04°51'15"E).
