The march northwards from the previous camp at Fawes to Soumagne was about 11 km (6.8 miles). This campsite (Austrian, Hanoverian, Hessian, Dutch, English) extends across cultivated land from Fléron (50°36'54"N 05°40'50"E) in the west to Herve (50°38'27"N 05°47'36"E) in the east, a distance of about 7-8 km (circa 5 miles).
