A map of the Battle of Striegau, also known as the Battle of Hohenfriedberg, fought on 4 May 1745 between an allied Austrian-Saxon army under the command of Prince Charles of Lorraine (1712-80), and Johann Adolf II, Duke of Saxe-Weissenfels (1685-1746), and the Prussian army under the command of Frederick II, King of Prussia (1712-86), resulting in a Prussian victory. War of the Austrian Succession (1740-48): Second Silesian War (1744-5). Oriented with north-east to top.

This battle was part of the Silesian Wars in which Frederick the Great, King of Prussia sought to acquire by force the Silesian territories of Maria Theresa of Austria.
