A map, with text, of the locations of the winter quarters of King George II's German Troops, November 1747. War of the Austrian Succession (1740-48). Oriented with west to top (cardinal points).

Additional text: [left, down left side of map, a list of the regiments, with the numbers of squadrons and battalions and the locations of their winter quarters, identified on the map by letters in red ink:] Explication.

Condition: one fold line; the paper is torn and creased, possibly during the mounting process. Verso: substantial foxing; induced discolouration; bottom, right of centre, water stained patch, shadow and fragments from the removal of Cumberland's cipher label.
