An order of battle of the Left Wing of the Allied army, June 1748. War of the Austrian Succession (1740-48).

The attribution to Schultz is made on stylistic grounds; the variation in the handwriting appears to be consistent with his rough and hurried, as well as fair, hand. This would appear to be an unfinished draft of the orders of battle by Schultz at RCINs 731031 and 731032.

The General Officers of the First Line are Generals Sommerfeld, Legonier; Lieutenant-Generals Hammerstein, Zastrow, Druchtleben, Both, Huske, Albemarle, Hawley; Major-Generals Wrede, Borck, Block, Torington, Powlet, Bligh.

The General Officers of the Second Line are Lieutenant-Generals Montigny, Klinckenstroom, Howard, Crawford; Major-Generals Adlepsen, Spörke, Stammer, Fowkes.

The positions of the cannon, between the battalions, in both lines are indicated. All regiments are named, and the regimental rectangles appear to be coloured according to the uniform.

Condition: one fold line; light creasing; brown stains. Verso: ink stains; light patches of the remains of old adhesive and paper to left and right edges, perhaps from a former paper mount.
