An order of battle of the Imperial army commanded by Prince Eugène of Savoy (1663-1736), on the Rhine in 1734 and 1735. War of the Polish Succession (1733-8).

The General Officers of the First Line of 81 squadrons and 48 battalions are G[eneral] F[eld] M[arschall] Hertzog v. Würtenberg, Graff von Harrach, Hertzog von Würtenberg; G[eneral] F[eld] Z[ug] M[eister] Printz fried. v. Würtenberg, Mörner, Duc d’Arenberg, du Hotoy; G[eneral] F[eld] M[arschall] L[eutnant] Pr. Baviere, Wurmbrand, Pr. Georg v. Hessen, Baron v. Schmettau, Baron v. der Lippe, Pr. Max. v. Hessen, Philippi, Pri. v. Zollern.

The General Officers of the Second Line of 65 squadrons and 36 battalions are G[eneral] F[eld] M[arschall] Hertzog v. Würtenberg, Hertzog von Bevern, Hertzog v. Würtenberg; G[eneral] F[eld] Z[ug] M[eister] Printz Frid. de Würtenberg, du Hotoy; G[eneral] F[eld] M[arschall] L[eutnant] Seer, Phul, Br. v. Nassau, Fürstenberg, Baron v. Muffling, Rhöder, Vasques, Piosasque.

The holders of the rank of what appears to be Brigadier-General [not specified] are named. Regiments are named. There is no mention of artillery.

Formerly kept in a grey-blue rough rag-paper folder, size 51.7 x 63.7 cm, folded to 51.7 x 31.7 cm. Old heading on front: Three Orders of Battle of the Imperial Army, under Prince Eugene, on the Rhine in 1734 and 1735 [annotated in pencil in a modern hand:] CMB Oct '86 [i.e. 1986; also annotated in ink, above old heading, in the 1930s or 1970s:] No.s 241-243 [these numbers relate to the stamped numbers on the manuscript items.

Condition: two fold lines; worn along folds; unevenly trimmed along left and right edges; small tears to central horizontal fold left and right; brown stains. Verso: surface dirt.
