A map of the Battle of Oudenaarde, fought on 11 July 1708 between the Allied army of Great Britain, Dutch Republic and Holy Roman Empire, commanded by John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough (1650-1722), Henry, Count of Nassau, Lord of Overkirk [Hendrik van Nassau, Heer van Ouderkerk] (1640-1708), Prince Eugène of Savoy (1663-1736), and the French, commanded by Louis, Duke of Burgundy (1682-1712) and Louis Joseph de Bourbon, Duke of Vendôme (1654-1712), resulting in an Allied victory. War of the Spanish Succession (1701-14). Oriented with north-west to top.

This map was originally published sometime between 1708 and 1720 by Elizabeth Verseyl, the widow of Nicolaas Visscher II. It was reissued by Schenk sometime in or after 1720, when he acquired some of Visscher's old copperplates.

Condition: one fold line. Verso: some surface dirt along top right edge; water-stained patch, shadow and ghosting from the removal of Cumberland's cipher label: VOL III / 47.
