The order of battle, in two lines, was taken the day after the battle, when the Allied army was in camp at Beauvechain (50°46'55"N 04°46'18"E), about 14 km (8.6 miles) north-west of Ramillies, and about half way between Ramillies, and Marlborough's immediate destination, Louvain.

The map, a charming combination between planimetric and pictorial detail, distinguishes the flood plains of the rivers by a green wash. The map extends, approximately, from Dongleberge (Dongelberg 50°42'12"N 04°49'11"E) in the north-west through Judoigne (Jodoigne 50°43'24"N 04°52'08"E) to Lisen (Lincent 50°42'44"N 05°02'11"E) in the north-east, and from Neuville (Noville-sur-Méhaigne 50°36'31"N 04°53'31"E) in the south-west to Ambesin (Ambresin 50°37'50"N 05°01'51"E) in the south-east.
