A map of the Anglo-Dutch expedition to Cádiz led by Admiral Sir George Rooke (c.1650-1709), Lieutenant-General James Butler, 2nd Duke of Ormond (1665-1745) and Major-General Baron de Sparre. War of the Spanish Succession (1701-14). Oriented with north-east to top (cardinal points).

Rooke was commander of the expedition to Cádiz which comprised 160 Dutch and English vessels, with the Duke of Ormond commanding 9,662 English troops and Major-General Baron de Sparre with 4,000 Dutch troops. They landed at the Bay of Bulls, shown top left of this map, on 15 August. Lacking any local support, the troops re-embarked on 26 September. The attacks and counter attacks between the ships and the fortifications on the mainland are shown.
