A map of the encampment of the Allied army, commanded by John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough (1650-1722), at Eft on 10 June 1705. War of the Spanish Succession (1701-14). Oriented with south to top.

The draughtsman of this map, Nevil Tatton, made maps of encampments of the Allied army in Flanders in 1745 or later during the war of the Austrian Succession (1740-48). See RCINs 729077, 729078 and 729081. In this instance, he was probably copying an earlier map made about 1705 and may have made it at the same time as the Flanders maps.

The map covers the area approximately from Langer (near Schengen 49°28'18"N 06°21'57"E) in the north-west to Hellendorf (49°28'56"N 06°27'27"E) in the north-east, and from Sirck (Sierck-les-Bains 49°26'23"N 06°21'38"E) in the south-west to Tentin (Tunting) west of Mandern (Manderen 49°27'00"N 06°26'21"E) in the south-east.
